Ford Bronco Tool Kit
Luckily, your Ford Bronco comes with all of the necessary tools for removing the hardtop such as:
- 10mm hex socket
- T30 hex tool
- Ratchet
- T50 torx plus
- Triangular bolt tool
Steps for Removing the Hardtop
- Remove front roof panels starting on the drivers side, fold the sun visors down and unlatch the drivers side header panel at the top of the windshield
- Unlock the three āLā shaped locks on the drivers side roof panel by turning them and then remove the drivers side roof panel
- Repeat the steps on the passenger side to remove the passenger side panel
- Start removing the center panel by unlatching the driver and passenger side and unlocking the three āLā shaped locks
- Remove the center panel with some help and store it in a secure place
- Lastly, remove the rear panel by opening the tailgate and opening the tailgate window, locate the wire harness and washer hose inside the cargo area on the rear drivers side
- Disconnect the wiring harness by pushing the tab to release and pulling down, do the same with the hose connector and plug them into their spots inside the Bronco
- Open the rear doors and unscrew the two screws that secure the rear roof panel at the C pillar and unscrew the four bolts on each side at the base of the roof panel
- With the tailgate window still open, have someone help you lift the rear roof panel straight up and once the locating pins are completely out, you can simply remove the panel
- Make sure to store the rear panel with the tailgate window open to prevent damage
